If you've seen a full grown pig and you're new to raising your own food, they could seem too much to take on. I assure you that they are one of the easiest of farm animals to raise and with the fewest predator troubles! Of course I can only share with you my experience, your mileage raising these animals could vary.
Other than a bright space, they need very little in supplies. Fresh food and water is a daily standard. Clean bedding material in the area they've chosen for sleep. A dry area, and maybe a fun mucky area from time to time too! I like to use the big rubber tubs for feeding because, even if they toss them into the air and get them all dirty, the tubs easy to clean and hard to ruin. Pigs are smart and playful animals. If you keep them happy by supplying their basic needs, the meals they provide will be tastier. I've bet my reputation on it!
